Faithbooking "You Are Who You Are For A Reason"

I finally had a chance to check out several Faithbooks created by a Creative Memories consultant friend of mine. I have used verses and quotes in the past within my pages but I have never designed an entire scrapbook specifically for the sake of the inspirational message. The book is designed around the quotes instead of the pictures. This makes it really fun to match up any picture you feel coordinates with the quote for that page.

You start with a smaller book, I used an 8x8, and one pack of pages if you are using the Creative Memories book.

There are several quotes, books or messages you can design your Faithbook around. Here are the directions to the one I just recently finished.

The first page is for centering Psalm 139:13-16 with some special embellishments. I chose not to include a picture on this page.

Then there are 21 lines therefore, 21 pages... not including your first page with Psalm 139:13-16.
The first full lay-out starts the 20 lines of quotes. It works out perfectly as the backside of the last page, number 21, is for the author's name with another picture of your choice.

Here are the 20 lines. See below for my examples of how to incorporate them into the lay-outs.

You are who you are for a reason
You're part of an intricate plan
You're a precious and perfect unique design
Called "God's special woman or man"
You look like you look for a reason
Our god made no mistake
He knit you together within the womb
You're just what He wanted to make!
The parents you had were the ones He chose
And no matter how you feel
They were custom designed with Gods plan in mind
And they bear the Master's seal
No, that trauma you faced was not easy
And God wept that it hurt you so
But it was allowed to shape our heart
So that into His likeness you'd grow
You are who you are for a reason
You've been formed by the Master's rod
You are who you are beloved,
Because there is a God!

Here are a few examples:
I kept the pages simple and didn't do any "wallpapering". I didn't want to take away from the point of the book. This lay-out above has pre-made frames but none of other pics had matting. Simple.

The last page
This scrapbook is for my 10yr old. I'm in the process of starting another for my 8yr old using a different message. I will share it with you hopefully by Easter.

Another idea for you...Max Lucado has a children's book, "Just in Case You Ever Wonder", this concept could be created on. It starts out "Long long ago, God made a decision"..."He made the decision to make you". What a special little book that would make.

This post also made it over to the Creative Scrapbooking Divas blog. It will be February's Special Guest Post in their Faithbooking link of their blog. Thank you so much Luisa for posting this for all the Diva's!!

Postcard Friendship Friday

I just love my vintage postcards. I have told this story before but they were spilling out of a box in a pile on the floor ready to go into the garbage. This was during the cleaning out of my husband's grandparents old farmhouse.

Neither one of these beautifully embellished cards have a stamped date, only a signature. One has the name Davidson Bros stamped on the edge and the series number which is so cool. Most of my textured postcards are dated 1909-1911.

The one in the center of my banner is dated1915.

Enjoy and thanks for checking out my Friday postcards.

Check out Beth and her gorgeous postcards along with the history of St.Valentine's Day.
